COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- Tennessee Tech quarterback Tre Lamb has been selected as the state's  Offensive Player of the Week by the Tennessee Sports Writer's Association (TSWA), earning the first such honor of the 2012 season while Vanderbilt safety Kenny Ladler was tabbed the Defensiv Player of the Week.

Lamb completed 24-of-35 passes for 339 yards and four touchdowns in Tech’s 41-31 season-opening victory over Hampton University. The senior from Calhoun, Ga., tossed 34 and nine-yard TDs to Zack Ziegler, a 17-yard strike to Ryan Tilghman and another 17-yarder to Da’Rick Rogers. The 339 yards was the second highest single-game total of his career and the four touchdowns tied his career best.

He returned his interception 17 yards to the South Carolina four-yard line. The Commodores play at Northwestern this Saturday at 7 p.m. CT.
