Lamb's performance earns FCS National QB of the Week honors

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- Tennessee Tech quarterback Tre Lamb has been named the FCS National Quarterback Performer of the Week for his outstanding efforts Thursday in leading the Golden Eagles to a 41-31 season-opening victory over Hampton University.

The award was announced Sunday by College Football Performance Awards (CFPA) on its website. Lamb shared the award with Eastern Illinois quarterback Jimmy Garappolo, who was also named the National Performer of the Week.

The senior from Calhoun, Ga., led the Golden Eagles to 548 yards of total offense while throwing for 339 yards and four touchdowns. It was the second-highest single-game passing yardage in his career and matched his career-best for most TD tosses. He also rushed for 18 yards, accounting for 357 yards of total offense.

After that first-week performance, Lamb ranks first in the OVC in passing efficiency and second in both passing and total offense.

Lamb was listed in July on the CFPA Quarterbacks Watch List.
