COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- Tennessee Tech wide receiver Da'Rick Rogers has earned the 2012 CFPA Elite Wide Recevier Award for his performance over the past two seasons, as announced by College Football Performance Awards.

In 2012, Rogers caught 61 passes for 893 yards and tied the TTU school record with 10 touchdowns. The 6-foot-3 junior caught 18 passes for 303 yards in a 41-38 double-overtime loss to Southeast Missouri State to set school records in both categories. Rogers played for the University of Tennessee Volunteers in 2011 where he led the team with 1,040 receiving yards and 9 touchdowns.

A total of 45 CFPA awards were announced for the 2012 season. Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel earned the 2012 CFPA National Performer of the Year Trophy, while Harvard quarterback Colton Chapple earned the same honor for the Football Championship Subdivision. Rogers was one of two OVC players honored, joining Tennessee State's A.C. Leonard who earned the 2012 CFPA Tight End Award.

The goal of College Football Performance Awards is to provide the most scientifically rigorous conferments in college football. All recipients are selected exclusively based upon objective scientific rankings of the extent to which individual players increase the overall effectiveness of their teams. Since its inception, nineteen CFPA recipients have been first-round NFL Draft selections.

Rogers recently declared for the 2013 NFL Draft, which will be held April 25-27.
