SETTING THE STAGE
Tech comes into Saturday's match-up with a 58-21 all-time lead over the Morehead State Eagles. Last season, the two squads spilt their two games, each winning in its home arena. Earlier this season, Morehead State took the first game between these two squads, 64-54, in Cookeville.

MSU has three players averaging double figures this season, led by Almesha Jones. Jones is averaging a team-high 17.3 points per game, while also being the leading distributer with eight assists per game. Following her, Shay Steele is averaging 13.2 points and grabbing 5.7 rebounds, while freshman Eriel McKee is nearly averaging a double-double at 11.9 points and 9.1 rebounds.

The Golden Eagles are led by junior Samaria Howard who is having an outstanding first season with TTU. Howard is averaging 14.7 points, while grabbing 5.4 rebounds. She also is shooting an impressive 80-percent from the free throw line. Following Howard is senior Candace Parson. Parson is averaging 10.9 points per game, and is grabbing a team-high 6.3 rebounds. She also has recorded a team-high 38 blocks this season.

In the last meeting between these two squads, MSU was a near-perfect 22-for-23 at the line, the best number of the game for the visiting Eagles, who won for the third time in the last four games. Tech went to the charity line just six times and made four.

Beyond that, the numbers were rather close. Tech shot 36 percent and MSU hit 39 percent. Both teams struggled from long distance, Tech going 2-for-10 and MSU just 2-for-12. Turnovers were 21-20, and Tech held a 40-35 lead in rebounds.
