SETTING THE STAGE
The Golden Eagles hold a 55-23 all-time lead over the Colonels, as these teams have been matching up since 1973-74.

Last season the two squads split, each winning in the others home arena. In the second of the two meetings, at EKU, Tech won in the waning seconds, 76-74. Hannah Goolsby was fouled with less than half-a-second remaining in a tie game, and stepped to the free throw line for the first time in the contest. Her two shots proved to be the winners as Tennessee Tech pulled out a road victory in EKU's McBrayer Arena.

This season, the Colonels are led by Michaela Hunter, who is averaging 14.1 points and 6.1 rebounds. She is also shooting 36.8-percent from beyond the arch, and 41.8-percent from the field. Following Hunter is Shameekia Murray, who is averaging 12.8 points per game.

EKU is coming off a 64-59 win at Murray State. Hunter and Murray again led the Colonels, Murray with 19 points and 11 boards, and Hunter finished with 18 and 8.

The Golden Eagles are looking to bounce back from a heart-breaking loss at Tennessee State. Tech led for 32 minutes against the Tigers,  but were unable to hold on down the stretch, losing 67-64.

Hannah Goolsby had a game-high 16 points, while both Candace Parson and Yaktavia "Shug" Hickson had 12. Samaria Howard finished the game with her second double-double of her career with 10 points and 11 rebounds.

Over the season, Howard leads Tech offensively with 13.6 points per game. Parson follows with 11.8 points and a team-high six rebounds per game.
