Telecasts begin Thursday with doubleheader vs. Murray
State
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- Continuing its long-standing support of
Tennessee Tech athletics, Cookeville television station WCTE has
announced plans to air eight Golden Eagle basketball games from
Eblen Center during the 2014-15 season. The station's program
lineup includes four women's games and four men's games.
Program producer/director Rick Wells announced the program
schedule, which begins Thursday evening and runs through
mid-February.
The first games to be televised will be Thursday night (Jan. 8),
with the Ohio Valley Conference doubleheader against Murray State.
Tipoff for the women's game is slated for 5:32 p.m. The cameras
will be aimed at the action for both games, with the men's contest
against the Racers scheduled for approxiately 7:30 p.m.
"Our entire staff is excited about the opportunity to continue to
televise Tennessee Tech basketball this season, and we hope to
provide the best coverage possible," Wells said. "Poviding this
additional television coverage should add to the excitement of the
games in Eblen Center."
Desiree Duncan serves as the Executive Producer of the telecasts.
Local sports personality Buddy Pearson will call the
play-by-play.
This season marks the 33rd season that WCTE will televise Golden
Eagle basketball from Eblen Center.
The schedule will bring WCTE's cameras back to Eblen Center for
live home game telecasts with Ohio Valley Conference rivals Austin
Peay on Saturday (Jan. 10), UT Martin the following Thursday (Jan.
15), and Belmont a month later (Saturday, Feb. 21).
The games can be seen locally on WCTE, as well as on Dish and
Direct in the mid-state area and other local cables in the Upper
Cumberland viewing area.
In addition to coverage by WCTE TV, all of Tech's home games will
be streamed live on the OVC Digital Network, with production by the
Golden Eagle Sports Network. Tech's road conference games will also
be available for free viewing on the OVCDN, with production of
those game streams provided by the host teams.
