COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- Not to confuse anyone with Daylight Savings
Time, but Tennessee Tech basketball fans are reminded to move their
plans earlier by an hour from past years -- Golden Eagle single
home games in Eblen Center start at 6 p.m. this season.
It all starts Friday night when the Golden Eagle men's squad opens
the regular season by hosting Piedmont International. Gates open at
5 p.m., with the game slated for a 6 p.m. starting time.
The new starting time, prompted by suggesitons from Golden Eagle
fans, is scheduled for every single game this season except two
Sunday afternoon contests. Those two games -- Dec. 7 when the men
host Hiwasee and Dec. 28 when the women entertain Middle Tennessee
-- feature 2 p.m. starting times.
"We asked our fans for feedback on their experiences at Golden
Eagle basketball games, and one of the results was moving the
starting times of our single games up one hour to 6 o'clock," said
Mark Wilson, Director of Athletics. "We've made several changes
this year, all with the goal of providing a better fan experience
for everyone coming to Golden Eagle basketball games."
The starting times for Tech's eight doubleheaders will remain at
5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
