COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – A career performance, plus two more strong showings, proved enough for Tennessee Tech men's basketball star Charles Jackson to take home his third adidas® Ohio Valley Conference Newcomer of the Week honors of the 2014-15 season.

Jackson shared the honor with Eastern Kentucky's Denzel Richardson after kicking off last week with a monster game against North Florida. The big man posted career-high marks in both points and rebounds while leading the Golden Eagles to an 84-81 victory. He dropped 28 points on 12-of-18 shooting while corralling 16 rebounds.

He followed up the statistical outburst with a 15-rebound performance at Eastern Illinois, adding seven points to the mix. Jackson wrapped up the week with 14 points and 10 rebounds at SIUE, recording his 11th double-double of the year.

With 11 double-doubles, the Sacramento native ranks second in the nation in the category, trailing only Stony Brook's Jameel Warney. Jackson also became the first Tech player with 11 double-doubles in a single season since Daniel Northern achieved the mark back in the 2008-09 campaign.

The junior, who ranks as the top scorer and rebounder on the Golden Eagles, also leads the OVC in rebounding, averaging 10.1 boards per game. His 13.9 points each contests ranks eighth in the league and he also cracks the top 10 in field goal percentage, blocks, offensive rebounds and defensive rebounds.
