COOKEVILLE, Tenn. - For the second time in as many weeks, the Tennessee Tech men's basketball team saw a member of the squad take home league honors as junior big man Charles Jackson took home his first adidas® Ohio Valley Conference Newcomer of the Week honors Monday afternoon.

Jackson, a transfer from the College of the Southern Idaho, left little choice for the OVC voters, grabbing his second and third double-doubles of the year last week while playing a huge role in the Golden Eagles' incredible, 19-point comeback victory over Chattanooga.

Starting at USC, the junior tallied 12 points and 10 rebounds before returning to Cookeville for a game for the ages. Jackson helped lead the largest rally in the past decade for Tech, scoring 15 points, pulling in 11 rebounds and blocking four shots.

The Sacramento, Calif. native is averaging a double-double on the year, with 12.3 points and 11.3 boards per game. He leads the OVC in rebounding by two boards per game and leads the league in both offensive and defensive rebounding, averaging 4.7 and 6.7, respectively. He also ranks third in blocks per game, rejecting 2.3 shots per contest.

With his third double-double in the books, Jackson is the first Golden Eagle to record a double-double in his first three career games since 2001-02 when TTU Sports Hall of Famer Damien Kinloch started his career with four.
