COOKEVILLE, Tenn. - For the third time in just two days the Tennessee Tech men's basketball team collected a victory, moving to 3-0 in its summer trip to the Dominican Republic with a 78-65 victory over the D.R. U-18 Team Thursday night.

"This was a good win for us," said head coach Steve Payne. "We were a little banged up, so it was really nice to see the guys overcome some adversity and play hard. We still have a good amount of work to do, but the guys have been performing very well and I'm proud."

Sophomore guard DeOndre Haynes led the Golden Eagles on the night, dropping 16 points in the contest. Big man Charles Jackson came up just one rebound shy of collecting his second double-double of the trip, scoring 11 points with nine boards.

Another sophomore guard, Shirmane Thomas, also performed well. The Homer, La. native tallied 12 points while dishing out six assists.

The Golden Eagles will still play two more contests during its trip.
