SETTING THE STAGE
This is the 64th game between these two squads and the Golden Eagles hold a 52-11 advantage. With Tennessee State topping TTU earlier this season, the Tigers broke a nine-game winning streak that the Golden Eagles held over the Tigers dating back to 2009-10 season.

In the last meeting, TSU used a late surge to top the Golden Eagles to win 67-64.

The Golden Eagles shot the lights out in the first half, connecting on 63.6-percent of its shots. Behind 10 first-half points from sophomore Hannah Goolsby, Tech took a 36-31 advantage heading into the locker room.

However, the intermission cooled the Golden Eagles off, and did not prove beneficial for their shooting. In the second period, Tech only hit seven shots of its 31 attempts, and only managed four points in the paint in the second half versus the posts from Tennessee State.

In more recent action, Tennessee State defeated Eastern Kentucky and Morehead State on the road last week. Junior Brianna Lawrence scored 22 points, including hitting six three-pointers in the win over Morehead State. She also had seven rebounds and two steals in the contest. Against Eastern Kentucky, she had 11 points, four assists and two steals.

Tech fell in its lone game last week to Jacksonville State, 70-54. The Golden Eagles had a double-double from Samaria Howard with 16 points and 12 rebounds, but she was the lone player to score in double digits for Tech. Howard is averaging 14.4 points and 5.6 rebounds on the season.
