COOKEVILLE, Tenn. - Tennessee Tech women's basketball fans had an opportunity to meet the new 2009-10 coaching staff and team on Thursday evening as the Golden Eagles hosted "Meet the Golden Eagles," at the Eblen Center.

More than 150 fans came to the event where they were introduced to the TTU coaching staff and players and had the opportunity to see the team in action during a 20-minute inter-squad scrimmage. The night was capped off with a potluck dinner in which fans had the chance to personally meet the 2009-10 Golden Eagles.

"I'd really like to thank all of the people who came out to support us," said Sytia Messer, Tennessee Tech women's basketball head coach. "It was a great experience for the players and coaches to meet some of our fans."

In the scrimmage, sophomores Tacarra Hayes and Krystal Stirrup led the Purple team to a 23-17 victory over the White squad. Hayes finished with eight points while Stirrup added seven.

Fans will have another opportunity to see the Golden Eagles in action soon as they host Tennessee Wesleyan on November 5 in an exhibition game at the Eblen Center.
