COOKEVILLE, Tenn. - The Tennessee Tech women's basketball team will play its seventh OVC game of the season on Saturday evening when the Golden Eagles travel to Murray, Ky., for a match-up against the Murray State Racers. Game time for the contest is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.

The Golden Eagles (7-9, 2-4 OVC) are coming off of a disappointing, 56-52, loss at UT Martin on Thursday evening. After holding a lead that grew to as many as 13 points for the majority of the game, the Skyhawks were able to climb back in the contest and hit a late 3-pointer to secure their first OVC win in their last 30 conference games.

Sophomore Tacarra Hayes had a solid overall game for the Golden Eagles on Thursday as she matched her career high for the third time this season with 22 points. The guard also helped out with nine rebounds, six assists and five steals. So far this conference season, Hayes leads the league in assists per game (6.0 apg) and also ranks second in scoring (16.2 ppg), second in steals (2.5 spg) and ninth in rebounding (7.0 rpg).

Murray State (7-10, 2-4 OVC) enters Saturday's game following a convincing, 78-49, victory over Jacksonville State on Thursday. Guard Rachel Isom led the team with 22 points on 7-of-8 shooing, while her teammate Mallory Luckett recorded a triple-double with 14 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds in the win.

The Racers, who were picked to finish sixth in the league according to the OVC Preseason Poll, have found success against the Golden Eagles of late as they have won the previous five match-ups. Most recently, Murray State defeated Tech, 91-84, at the Regional Special Events Center in the two teams' second meeting a season ago.

Tech will seek to improve upon its 1-7 road record so far this season. The Golden Eagles' lone victory on the road came against Jacksonville State in the team's OVC opener. Since that time, TTU has dropped four consecutive games away from the Eblen Center.
