Tech women's golf team off to Nevel Meade Collegiate

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech women's golf team gets back to the links with a trip north to Nevel Meade Golf Club in Prospect, Ky. for Cleveland State's Nevel Meade Collegiate Monday and Tuesday.

NEVEL MEADE COLLEGIATE: Mar. 21-22, 2022 – 36 holes (18 Monday, 18 Tuesday), located at the par-72, 5,953-yard Nevel Meade Golf Club in Prospect, Ky. Play will begin with an 8:00 a.m. CT shotgun start on Monday.

GOLDEN EAGLE LINEUP: Competing for the Golden Eagles are senior Hannah Bratton, senior Heidi Lawson, sophomore Ainsley Simms, junior Elisabeth Toennessen, and junior Gittle Sciolis. Competing as individuals are junior Katrine Toennessen and senior Isabel York.  

THE COMPETITION: The 15-team field consists of host Cleveland State, as well as Bellarmine, Bowling Green, Butler, Central Michigan, Dayton, Detroit Mercy, Indiana State, Northern Kentucky, Oakland, Purdue Fort Wayne, Tennessee Tech, Toledo, and two teams for Youngstown State.

THOUGHTS FROM HEAD COACH AMANDA SMITH: "It feels great coming off such a solid, last-day finish for our team at our home event. It was awesome to see all the family, friends, and staff support us. After some adversity with schedule changes due to the snow, the ladies responded really well. We will keep the momentum going up north to Kentucky."
