Tech visits Mt. Pleasant, S.C. for RiverTowne Invitational

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech women's golf team is set for its second week of action of the spring season, heading for Mt. Pleasant, S.C. and the RiverTowne Invitational hosted by Charleston Southern on Monday, Feb. 28 and Tuesday, Mar. 1

RIVERTOWNE INVITATIONAL: Feb. 28-Mar. 1, 2022 – 54 holes (36 Monday, 18 Tuesday), located at the par-72, 6,146-yard RiverTowne Country Club in Mt. Pleasant, S.C. Play will kick off Monday with a shotgun start beginning at 7:30 a.m. CT. The third and final round will commence Tuesday morning with a shotgun start at 7:30 a.m.

GOLDEN EAGLE LINEUP: Competing for the Golden Eagles are sophomore Ainsley Simms, junior Elisabeth Toennessen, senior Hannah Bratton, senior Heidi Lawson, and freshman Reagan Stuke.

THE COMPETITION: The 16-team field consists of host Charleston Southern, as well as The Citadel, Delaware, Elon, Fairleigh Dickinson, High Point, Jacksonville, Lipscomb, Longwood, Morehead State, Oral Roberts, Radford, Tennessee Tech, UNC Asheville, William & Mary, and Youngstown State.

THOUGHTS FROM HEAD COACH AMANDA SMITH: "This team has regrouped and learned a lot about their own games from a tough course last week. I am pleased with the work we have put in and where this team is headed. RiverTowne Country Club will be the same set-up, so we are looking forward to using what course management strengths we have developed and finishing strong."
