capture A-AA state championshhip

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Second-year Tennessee Tech women’s golf coach Brandy Stout announced this week that she has signed Katherine Bell from University School of Jackson to the 2009-10 Golden Eagle roster.

“Katherine has had a successful high school career, and I’m looking forward to her being an important member of the Golden Eagle program,” Stout said.

The daughter of Larry and Cindy Bell of Jackson, Katherine was a key player on coach Jeff Manley’s golf team that captured the TSSAA state title in 2008. She helped University School win four consecutive district and region championships.

Individually, Bell finished second in the Class A-AA state tournament as a senior, after placing ninth in the state as a sophomore and 12th as a junior. She was the district medalist twice, and earned all-district and all-region honors all four years of her prep career.

Bell will join fall signee Amanda Randolph of Cookeville as newcomers on the 2009-10 Golden Eagle roster when classes begin later this month.
