CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. -- After finishing in second place four times
last year, Golden Eagle senior Megan Bradford wrapped up her first
tournament medalist honor Tuesday while leading the Tennessee Tech
women's golf team to a fourth place finish at the F&M Bank APSU
Intercollegiate.
Bradford fashioned a par 72 Tuesday at the 5,960-yard, par 72
Clarksville Country Club to outrun all other golfers and claim
first place by two strokes over of Morehead State teammates Marisa
Kamelgarn and Paige Lausier.
Morehead State claimed the team title with a 620 total in the 36-hole tournament, beating Houston Baptist (633) by 13 shots. Belmont (639) was third, with Tech (642) fourth and Butler (649) fifth. The field included a total of 17 teams and 93 golfers.
Junior Carley Rhyne was Tech's second highest finisher, placing in a tie for 26th after shooting 83-81--164. Junior Lindsay Spradlen tied for 33rd place at 82-84--166, followed by senior Diana Carson (36th place/80-87--167) and freshman Amanda Randolph (46th place/88-82--170).
Freshman Katherine Bell and senior Katie Brown also participated
in the tournament as individual entries. Bell finished tied for
56th place at 84-87--171, while Brown tied for 68th place at
87-90--177.
The Golden Eagles have one tournament remaining in the fall season,
the Beach Bash hosted by UAB in Daytona, Fla., Nov. 2-4.
