CITRUS SPRINGS, Fla. -- The Tennessee Tech women's golf team
will be in Florida for part of Spring Break this week, but the
Golden Eagles have business to tend to as they play in the El
Diablo Intercollegiate Thursday and Friday.
The tournament, which is hosted by Eastern Kentucky University, is
a 54-hole outing with 36 holes Thursday and the final 18 on Friday.
It will be played at the El Diablo Golf and Country Club in Citrus
Springs. A shotgun start will start play each day at 8:15 a.m. on
the 5,902-yard, par 72 layout.
The 15-team field will include four Ohio Valley Conference
schools. Joining host EKU and the Golden Eagles from the OVC will
be Austin Peay and Murray State. Other teams competing are Barry,
Belmont, IPFW, IUPUI, Lehigh, Old Dominion, USC Upstate, Southern
Illinois, SIU-Edwardsville, St. John’s and Western
Kentucky.
Coach Brandy Stout will take seven players to the tournament, including two who will compete as individual and five in the Golden Eagle lineup. Tech's five in the team competition will be seniors Diana Carson, Megan Bradford and Katie Brown, junior Carley Rhyne,and freshman Amanda Randolph. Tech's individual entries will be junior Linsday Spradlen and freshman Katherine Bell.
