ONEONTA, Ala. -- After having last week's entire tournament
rained out in Florida, the Tennessee Tech women's golf team is in
Alabama for the Samford Invitational, a 54-hole event slated for
Monday and Tuesday.
Samford is hosting its first tournament of the 2009-10 season as
the Bulldogs welcome 10 teams to compete in the annual Samford
Intercollegiate to be held at Limestone Springs Golf Course.
The competition is slated to begin Monday with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. (CDT). Limestone Springs is a highly-acclaimed 6,457-yard, par-72 golf course.The final round will be Tuesday.
The field of this week's 2010 Samford Invitational consists of the following teams: Samford (host), Belmont, Evansville, Jacksonville State, Louisiana-Monroe, Montevallo, South Alabama, Tennessee State, Tennessee Tech, UAB and Western Kentucky.
Tech coach Brandy Stout has seven players at the tournament,
including two who will compete as individuals and five in the
Golden Eagle lineup. Tech's five in the team competition will be
seniors Diana Carson, Megan Bradford and Katie Brown, junior Carley
Rhyne,and freshman Amanda Randolph. Tech's individual entries will
be junior Linsday Spradlen and freshman Katherine Bell.
