CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. -- Senior Megan Bradford is tied for seventh
place and the Tennessee Tech women's golf team finds itself in
fourth place among 17 teams competing in the F&M Bank APSU
Intercollegiate after first round play Monday at the Clarksville
Country Club.
Fellow Ohio Valley Conference school Morehead State leads the tourney after the first round after shooting a 316 on the par-72, 5,960-yard course. Houston Baptist is in second place at 320 while Butler is in third at 322. Tennessee Tech is one stroke behind with a 323.
Three OVC golfers are atop the leaderboard individually as well,
with Morehead State's Marisa Kamelgarn and Murray State Andrea
Downer leading at 75 while Eastern Kentucky's Lisanne Schmidt is in
a group of four tied in third at 77, with Bradford one shot
back.
Diana Carson opened play with an 80 and is tied for 14th place,
while Lindsay Spradlen is tied for 23rd place at 82. Carley Rhyne
(83/29th place) and Amanda Randolph (88/65th place) complete Tech's
five player lineup in the team portion of the tournament.
Coach Brandy Stout also has two players competing individually.
Katherine Bell is tied for 36th place at 84, while Katie Brown is
tied for 57th place at 87.
The tourney will conclude Tuesday with the final 18 holes and an
8:30 a.m. shotgun start.
