BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Production up and down the lineup was the theme of the day for the Tennessee Tech tennis team, as the Golden Eagles claimed wins in five-of-six singles battles on the way to a 6-1 win at UAB in the club's non-conference finale. The victory continued a recent surge for the purple and gold that has now seen Tech roll off a 4-2 stretch over its last six affairs.

All five of TTU's solo nods came in straight sets, highlighted by an overwhelming Andre Rodeia 6-1, 6-0 triumph against Chase Parker in the No. 5 get-together. Jun Sasagawa followed suit with a 6-4, 7-6 nod against Nikola Puric in the No. 6 position to provide the Golden Eagles (5-11, 2-0 OVC) with a powerful punch toward the bottom of the lineup.

Tech's singles showing toward the top of the order produced similar results thanks to a Mika Berghaus 7-6, 6-3 win over Roman Postolka in the No. 2 slot, a Carlos Vicente 6-3, 6-4 decision against Vojtech Podzemny in the No. 3 clash and a Rafael Tosetto 6-3, 6-2 victory over Thanos Spyropoulos in the No. 4 duel.

Elias Grubert was the lone Golden Eagle to falter behind a 6-4, 6-1 loss to Michal Lusovsky in the top spot.

The 5-foot-8 Golden Eagle out of Parana, Argentina did provide Tech with a doubles triumph, teaming up with Mika Berghaus to take down Michal Lusovsky and Roman Postolka with a 7-6 nod in the No. 1 position. Andre Rodeia and Evzen Holis also secured a 7-6 win over Vojtech Podzemny and Parker Bradbary in the No. 2 meeting to help secure the doubles point over the Blazers (8-14) for TTU's fourth doubles point of the year.

The final doubles matchup did not finish between Rafael Tosetto and Carlos Vicente and Nikola Puric and Thanos Spyropoulos.

With Tech's slate of non-conference competition now in the rearview mirror, the Golden Eagles will set their sights on two more OVC tilts. The first of the pair will take place on Tuesday, Apr. 19 as part of the home finale against Austin Peay. First serve at Tech Tennis Courts is set for 2 p.m. CT and admission is free of charge.
