BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Following a perfect doubles showing over the weekend, the tandem of Mika Berghaus and Elias Grubert was recognized as the Ohio Valley Conference's Men's Tennis Doubles Team of the Week.
A new honor introduced by the league this spring for each week's best duo, Berghaus and Grubert are coming off 2-0 performance during doubles action in TTU's pair of affairs in Radford, Va. The Tech tandem first secured a 6-3 victory in the No. 2 spot as part of a 4-3 triumph over UNCG on Friday, before the duo capped off the weekend with another 6-3 nod in the No. 2 spot in Saturday's loss to Radford.
The two wins moved the Golden Eagle partnership to 3-2 in the No. 2 slot during doubles play this spring.
Berghaus, Grubert and the rest of the purple and gold will travel to Murfreesboro for the squad's next clash, a Sunday morning meeting at Middle Tennessee. First serve is set for 10 a.m. CT.
