A look at Tennessee Tech

Despite playing shorthanded last weekend with just five available Golden Eagles, Tech (1-7) managed to split its pair of contests in Radford, Va., which included the purple and gold's first win of the spring. TTU secured a 4-3 victory over UNCG on Mar. 4, before falling 6-1 at Radford on Mar. 5.

Mika Berghaus, Evzen Holis, Andre Rodeia and Jun Sasagawa all registered singles nods in Friday's triumph over the Spartans, while Rodeia checked the win column for a second time over the weekend behind a three-set victory in Saturday's No. 4 solo spot in the clash with the Highlanders.

As far as doubles play is concerned, the Tech tandem of Berghaus and Elias Grubert powered home a perfect weekend with two straight wins out of the No. 2 position. For their efforts, the Golden Eagle duo was honored as the Ohio Valley Conference's Men's Tennis Doubles Team of the Week on Tuesday, representing TTU's first weekly accolade of the season.

Andre Rodeia's three singles victories this spring are the most on the squad, while Berghaus and Grubert have teamed up for a club-best three doubles wins this year.

A look at Middle Tennessee

The Blue Raiders (16-3) are in the midst of an impressive campaign that has seen the squad only drop contests to Notre Dame, Georgia Tech and Mississippi State this spring. MT's hot start is the program's best since 1997 and the group comes into Sunday's tilt with Tech on a 10-match winning streak.

Chris Edge possesses the team's best singles ledger thanks to a 15-2 mark, going 13-2 out of the No. 3 position. Francisco Rocha is 12-1 playing exclusively in the top two spots, while Stijn Slump is the third Blue Raider with double digit solo triumphs behind a 10-5 record, all out of the top slot in the MT lineup.

Edge and Stepan Holis have proven to be the club's top doubles tandem thanks to a 13-2 record, doing most of the work out of the No. 3 position. Rocha and Oskar Brostrom Poulsen are 10-3, splitting time each of the top two tandem spots.

Inside the series

Middle Tennessee holds a 48-25 edge in the all-time series, which includes six straight victories and an 18-1 mark over the last 19 matches. The two squads last hooked up on Feb. 1, 2015 in Nashville in a match that saw the Blue Raiders take home a 5-2 win.
