COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Always one of the more premier tournaments in the fall, the Tennessee Tech tennis team is set to take its shot in the ITA Ohio Valley Regionals over the next five days in Knoxville. The single-elimination tourney is slated for Thursday, Sept. 23 through Monday, Sept. 27.

The purple and gold will bring its entire roster of Mika Berghaus, Elias Grubert, Evzen Holis, Andre Rodeia, Jun Sasagawa, Rafael Tosetto and Carlos Vicente to compete in singles play, while Holis and Sasagawa, Berghaus and Rodeia, and Tosetto and Vicente will make up Tech's three doubles squads.

The Golden Eagles are coming off a successful first fall showing as part of the UNCG Fall Invitational, with victories in all four of the club's singles rounds during the three-day stay in Greensboro, N.C. Tech topped Chattanooga in a solo round on Sept. 10, secured singles nods over Radford and UNC Ashville on Sept. 11 and soared past Campbell in a solo bout on Sept. 12.

Tech finished with a 1-2 mark in doubles action, first falling to Chattanooga and Radford on Sept. 10, before bouncing back with a tandem victory over Campbell on Sept. 11.

Individually, Rafael Tosetto paved the way with an unblemished weekend singles resume behind a perfect 4-0 mark. Mika Berghaus, Elias Grubert, Evzen Holis and Andre Rodeia all registered 3-1 solo records, while Jun Sasagawa went 1-1 over the weekend.

Berghaus and Rodeia proved to be Tech's most formidable doubles pairing with a 2-1 record, while Grubert and Tosetto claimed a win in the only clash they had partnered together.
