MOREHEAD, Ky. - With the second of two Kentucky road games in sight, the Tennessee Tech men's basketball team will look to take down OVC foe Morehead State Saturday night in a battle of two very physical teams.

The Last Meeting
In the second of two match-ups in 2011-12, Morehead State earned a 56-50 victory in Morehead. Guard Ty Proffitt scored 20 points in the low-scoring affair, with forward Drew Kelly adding 15.

The Golden Eagles received stellar games from guards Kevin Murphy and Jud Dillard in the contest. Dillard, currently a senior on the Tech roster, scored 18 points on 7-of-10 shooting. An NBA Draft selection in 2012, Murphy recorded a double-double in the game, scoring 18 points and pulling down 10 rebounds.

Heading into this weekend's match-up, the Eagles of Morehead State will look to keep its rebounding numbers the same as they've been all year, as the team averages 36.4 boards per game. The Eagles score over 70 points per contest while allowing opponents to score the same.

Two Morehead players average double figures in the scoring department. Milton Chavis puts up 10.3 points per game while Angelo Warner averages 10.1. Both players are pulling down nearly four rebounds per contest.

Devon Atkinson leads the Eagles in assists with 134 on the year while scoring 7.4 points each time out on the floor. Chad Posthumus stands as the leading rebounder for Morehead State, grabbing 6.4 boards per game.

The Eagles snapped a three-game skid on Thursday, defeating Jacksonville State 85-81 in Morehead. The team was led by Bakari Turner, who scored 19 points. Five Morehead players recorded 10-plus points, including Posthumus, Atkinson, Kahlil Owens, Jarrett Stokes, and Turner.

Tech enters the contest averaging 64 points per game while holding its opponents to 67.5. The Golden Eagles are coming off a tough, 80-69 road loss at Eastern Kentucky that saw a 45.3 percent shooting performance fall short.

Three Golden Eagles put up strong numbers in a contest that saw nine different Tech players score. Junior forward Dennis Ogbe, who has recorded 10-plus points in nine of his last 10 games, put up 17 points while recording eight rebounds. Jeremiah Samarrippas, a junior point guard from Bartow, Fla., knocked down four 3-pointers on his way to 15 points and seven assists.

Senior guard Jud Dillard pulled down eight rebounds on the night while scoring 17 points on 11-of-12 shooting from the free throw line. Dillard also tied the school-record for consecutive free throws in a season, knocking down 30-straight freebees over a four-game span. He enters Saturday's contest as the second leading scorer int he OVC, averaging 19.2 points per game along with 7.9 rebound per contest.
