COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Following in the footsteps of a much-needed victory over Berea Monday evening, the Tennessee Tech men's basketball team looks to make it two in a row Thursday night, as it hosts Green Bay as part of a doubleheader in Eblen Center with the women's basketball team.

Setting the Stage
For the second straight game, the Golden Eagles will meet their opponent for the first time in program history. The Green Bay Phoenix, who will make their first appearance at the Eblen Center, are looking to bounce back from a tough road loss at Virginia last Saturday.

The Phoenix come into the game sitting at 3-4, far from what the Horizon League title contenders were looking for to start the season. The team is still favored to be a top challenger to preseason conference favorite Valparaiso, however, boasting some top shelf talent.

Highlighting the game for both teams will be the presence of highly regarded scouting talent from the World Champion Miami Heat. With three members of the scouting staff expected to be on hand, fans can expect a hard-fought battle with several highlight-reel plays.

Green Bay boasts one of the top reasons for the Heat scouts to be in attendence Thursday evening as junior center Alec Brown has been projected to be taken as high as a lottery pick in the upcoming NBA Draft. The seven-footer is averaging 12.0 points and 7.0 rebounds through seven games so far this season.

While several Golden Eagles are capable of combatting the Phoenix big man for attention during the game, the number one priority for the team will be to grab a much-needed win before it sets out on a five-game, three-week road trip.

Expected to lead Tech in that hunt for another home victory is senior guard Jud Dillard. The Atlanta, Ga. native leads the Golden Eagles in both scoring and rebounding, averaging 20.0 points and 7.3 boards per contest. Dillard, a preseason all-OVC selection, owns three double-doubles already this season after posting eight during the 2011-12 campaign.

Junior forward Matt Marseille, who sat out the entire 2011-12 season due to a knee injury, started the season off a little slow. Over the last three games, however, no one has been more important to the Golden Eagle effort. Marseille is averaging 14.7 points and 5.7 rebounds over that span, and currently leads the entire Ohio Valley Conference in field goal percentage, shooting over 70% from the field.
