Tennessee Tech Baseball Weekend Preview (Apr. 16-17)
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech baseball team gets back to Ohio Valley Conference play after taking a break from league action last weekend, staying on the road for a three-game series with Southeast Missouri on Friday and Saturday.
Game one of the series is set for 5:00 p.m. CT at Capaha Field in Cape Girardeau, Mo. Friday evening. Saturday will feature doubleheader action starting at 1:00 p.m. All three games are slated to appear on ESPN+.
Tech claimed one of three contests over the weekend during a road trip to College of Charleston, edging the Cougars 5-4 in the second game of a Saturday doubleheader. SEMO collected an OVC series win at Murray State last weekend, defeating the Racer 8-3 and 12-8 in the first two games before falling 11-6 in the finale. The Redhawks also defeated UT Martin in midweek action, 8-1, in a contest with no OVC implications.
The Golden Eagles have been led by second baseman Brett Roberts this season, with the returning freshman sporting a team-high .373 batting average, including a ridiculous .422 mark in OVC play. He also paces the purple and gold with 13 extra-base hits, including 10 doubles, and 12 steals.
