Golden Eagles travel to undefeated Kentucky Tuesday

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. --- After winning its weekend series against Dayton, the Tennessee Tech baseball team will travel to #23 Kentucky Tuesday to try and hand the Wildcats their first loss of the season.

The first pitch is set for 3 p.m.

Austin Wulf and Zach Stephens had the hot bats last week as they helped the Golden Eagles to a 3-1 record. Both tallied five runs, five RBI and two home runs. Dylan Bosheers also had a good week at the plate as he posted a .333 batting average, as he tallied two home runs as well, to go along with six RBI and five runs scored.

Kentucky enters the week the owner of an 11-0 record, which includes a 3-2 win over Morehead State and most recently a three-game sweep of Illinois-Chicago this past weekend.

Luke Maile has led the Wildcat offense this season with 13 runs driven in and 16 runs scored. Austin Cousino has hit .447 on the season and has posted a team-high 21 hits.

The Golden Eagles are 1-8 all-time against the Wildcats including an 11-8 loss last season.

TTU head coach Matt Bragga played four seasons for the Wildcats before graduating from Kentucky in 1994. Bragga ranks near the top of several season and career records at UK and ranks third in games played in a season with 62 and fourth in games started with 61. His. Career batting average of .338 ranks eighth all-time at Kentucky and his 83 hits during his senior season ranks 10th all-time.
