CINCINNATI, Ohio – After a strong showing against Ball State on Monday in the season opener, the Tennessee Tech women's basketball team will hit the road for the first time in the new campaign as they take on Cincinnati on Thursday.

Tip-off from Fifth Third Arena is scheduled for 4 p.m. Central.

Roger Ealey will have the radio call on 106.1 The Eagle, while Anthony Mazzini and Kevin Johnson will handle the broadcast duties on ESPN+ (subscription required).

Thursday's contest against the Bearcats will be the eighth meeting in the all-time series with Cincinnati holding a slim 4-3 advantage. Tech last played UC in December 2016 during head coach Kim Rosamond's first season with the Golden Eagles as the Bearcats prevailed 60-38. Six years later, the Tech squad is heading in an upward direction as Rosamond is approaching her 100th win with the Golden Eagles as she claimed her 93rd on Monday.

In that game, Tech took a 68-63 victory over the visiting Cardinals out of the Mid-American Conference, using impeccable shooting at the free-throw line and a strong defensive effort forcing 24 BSU turnovers, while also holding Preseason All-MAC selection Ally Becki to two points and four rebounds.

The Golden Eagles had a 19-point lead at the eight-minute mark of the third quarter, but rebounding shifted into the Cardinals' favor as they pulled down 48 caroms to Tech's 28 – including 17 offensive boards. BSU made it a one-point game with just under two minutes remaining in the contest. The Golden Eagles drew fouls with Reagan Hurst and Reghan Grimes icing the game at the free-throw line – a place Tech excelled at all night with a 22-for-25 effort at the stripe.

Jordan Brock and Hurst led all scorers in the game with 16 points.

Cincinnati comes into their home opener with an 0-1 mark after dropping an 87-68 decision to No. 5 Louisville. Sophomore Braylyn Milton scored a career-high 28 points against the Cardinals with a 5-for-5 night from long-range, while Mya Jackson and A'riel Jackson each had 12 points.

Louisville rushed out to a 24-10 lead after the first quarter and continued to expand its advantage in the second quarter to lead 48-28 at the half. Cincinnati outscored the Cardinals in the third quarter, but saw its progress in chipping away the deficit disappear in the third.

Cincinnati had a great night from long-range, hitting nine of 13 3-pointers at a 69.2 percent clip. The Bearcats shot 43.4 percent from the field and 65.0 from the free-throw line.

Louisville scored 48 points in the paint, 28 off turnovers and 16 on second chances off of 14 offensive rebounds.
