Getting to know: Ansley Hall

Getting to know: Ansley Hall

Every student-athlete has a story, details about themselves and their background that extend beyond just the playing field and athletics.

Throughout the summer, we will take a look at the members of the Tennessee Tech women's basketball team and get to know more about them, the student-athletes who are representing not just their home communities, but also the University, Cookeville and the Upper Cumberland as they don the purple and gold. We asked the team to provide 10 facts about themselves that they want you, the fans, to know about them.

Today's subject is rising junior Ansley Hall. A four-sport athlete back in her prep days at North Oconee High in Watkinsville, Ga., Hall was an All-State and All-Region selection, playing basketball, soccer and softball, while also running cross country. As a member of the Tech women's basketball team, Hall showed tremendous growth from her first season in a Golden Eagle uniform to her second as she saw her shooting percentages improve, her point production double and defensive numbers increase.

Here are 10 things Hall wants you to know about her:

  1. I have a Guitar Hero obsession. I own three or four different games with a complete band set of the drums, two guitars and a microphone. I'm currently working on mastering the expert level.
  2. I am the oldest of three. I have two younger siblings – Jake (15) and Hannah (16).
  3. I have a mini Australian Labradoodle named Frankie. She's named after one of my favorite shows: "Grace and Frankie." Specifically, the character Frankie Bergstein.
  4. I also love "The Office" and have seen every episode.
  5. My favorite food combination is pizza and chocolate milk. I don't know why but it hits the spot.
  6. I have a slight caffeine addiction and drink coffee every morning. At this point, I get a caffeine headache if I don't.
  7. I am an Iron Eagle, which is the highest category you can be in the weight room.
  8. I did my first-ever puzzle during freshman year with my roommate Peyton while we were in quarantine. I am not a fan.
  9. My freshman year, I was put into quarantine three different times due to contact tracing. I spent a total of 43 days in quarantine that first semester.
  10. Once I was in the Bahamas and we went to this cool place where you can get in the water and swim with stingrays and sharks. I was trying to feed a stingray and it sucked up my finger and I couldn't get it to let go. So now I tell people I was bit by a stingray.
