COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- Tennessee Tech senior Holly Thomas earned her second post-season accolade and sophomore Kayla Floyd notched her first as both made the College Sports Madness All-OVC softball first team.

Thomas struck out 158 batters in her 38 appearances on the year. Her opponents batting average of .204 ranked the best in the conference while her ERA of 2.11 was second only to Eastern Illinois' Stephanie Maday, who was named CSM's Pitcher of the Year in the OVC.

She led the Golden Eagles in every pitching category, hurling three shutouts and 23 complete games in 218.2 innings in the circle.

Holly pitched one of the most exciting days in OVC history at the 2012 tournament, defeating the No. 2 and No. 3 seeded teams in the same day. She earned four wins in the tourney and held the best hitters in the league to an average of just .196.

Floyd, a sophomore from Columbia, Tenn., led the Golden Eagles in batting average for the second consecutive year, seeing limited action in both seasons. This year, she posted an average of .367, ranking her 10th in the OVC.

Kayla tallied five multiple-hit games and was the only Tech player to post more than one hit against Florida State. Her best outing of the year came against Dayton, as she went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs scored. Floyd stole 17 bases on the year and scored 13 runs on 18 hits.
