Golden Eagles to make short trip to face Cumberland Tuesday

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- The Tennessee Tech softball team steps away from conference play this week to face Cumberland University in a single game on Tuesday. The Bulldogs (24-16-1) will host the Golden Eagles at 4 p.m. at the CU Softball Field in Lebanon, Tenn.

Tech (17-24, 11-11 OVC) enters the matchup coming off a pair of losses at Eastern Illinois on Sunday. Cumberland has won four of its last seven decisions after breaking a five-game losing streak. Tuesday marks the final home game of the season for the Bulldogs, who split a doubleheader with Mid-Continent in their last homestand.

The Golden Eagles return home to host SIU-Edwardsville in a three-game series that will help determine postseason opportunities for either team. Saturday marks Alumni Day while Sunday will be senior day for three Tech seniors.
