COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- After playing ten consecutive Ohio Valley Conference games, the Tennessee Tech softball team will take to the road Tuesday to face Chattanooga.

The Lady Mocs are in the midst of a ten-game homestand and have won nine straight games at Frost Stadium. The Golden Eagles are 6-5 on the road and Chattanooga is 12-1 at home with its only loss coming from Purdue in February.

Chattanooga is an offensive powerhouse, with eight players batting .306 or better. Seven Lady Mocs have hit home runs and all seven of those have double-digit RBIs. Senior Michelle Fuzzard leads the team, batting .467 with 12 doubles, seven home runs, and 43 RBIs. Junior Sara Poteat is a contact threat, batting .443 with 42 runs scored and 15 stolen bases on the year.

The Lady Mocs have outscored their opponents by 99 runs this year, allowing just 133 in 36 games.

The Golden Eagles will look to shut down the scoring threats with strong defense and pitching. Tech's pitching staff has held batters to an average of just .238, the best in the OVC. The Golden Eagles has allowed just 96 earned runs and has a team fielding percentage of .960.

Freshman Taylor Ketchum leads the team in ERA with a 1.85 in her 34 innings this year. She earned her first career win over Southeast Missouri in a game in which she struck out ten. Senior Holly Thomas has been the reliable workhorse for coach Tory Acheson, pitching 15 complete games and striking out 114 batters. Her opponent's batting average is the best in the conference at .203.

The Golden Eagles will return home to host Eastern Kentucky in a doubleheader on Thursday before going to Eastern Illinois this weekend.
