OWENS CROSS ROADS, Ala. – Consistently ranked among the top performers in the league all year long, Tennessee Tech women's golfers Maddi Everts and Whitney Robertson received the proper recognition Monday evening, each earning a spot on the All-Ohio Valley Conference Team at the annual awards banquet.

It marked the first time since 2010 (Diana Carson) that a Golden Eagle took home All-OVC honors and the first time since 2009 (Megan Bradford and Ashley Spangler) that two Tech golfers earned the award.

A native of Ooltewah, Tenn., Everts entered the tournament championships tied for second in the league in scoring average with a mark of 75.8. The junior was twice named OVC Female Golfer of the Week and took home two All-Tournament nods. In the fall she claimed medalist honors in winning the F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate.

Robertson entered the awards banquet on a hot streak, claiming three top 10 finishes including tying for first at the Murray State Invitational in her last time out and taking home OVC Female Golfer of the Week accolades for her performance. The Clarksville, Tenn. earned All-Tournament honors four times this season and entered the league Championships just one year after earning a place on the OVC All-Tournament team.

Entering the week, Robertson ranked sixth in the OVC in stroke average, collecting a mark of 76.2 over 26 rounds of play.

Morehead State's Jeanette Petersen was named the 2014-15 Ohio Valley Conference Freshman of the Year. The award, along with the All-OVC and All-Newcomer squads, were announced Monday evening at a banquet following the first day of play at the 2015 OVC Championship.

The OVC Player and Coach of the Year awards will be announced Wednesday afternoon following the final round of play at the Championship, which is being held at The Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail at Hampton Cove in Owens Cross Roads, Alabama (just outside Huntsville).
