COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – A record-breaking performance proved more than enough for Tennessee Tech women's golfer Maddi Everts to claim her first career adidas® Ohio Valley Conference Female Golfer of the Week honors of the year Wednesday afternoon.

A junior and leader in the clubhouse for the Tech program, Everts established a new standard for 54-hole scoring for the Golden Eagles at the CSU Wendy's Invitational Monday and Tuesday. She turned in a final card of 75-71-73=219, placing third in the event and taking home All-Tournament honors for the fourth time of her career.

After battling injury for much of the 2013-14 season, Everts has come out firing on all cylinders in 2014-15, leading the league in scoring average after nine rounds of play with an 18-hole mark of 75.0.

Evert's 219 not only broke the record set by current teammate Whitney Robertson back in September at the Jan Weaver-Murray State Invitational, but also led the Golden Eagles to setting a team-record for 54-hole scoring as well. Tech combined for a 308-303-302=913, shattering the previous mark of 917 set last fall at the MTSU Blue Raider Invitational.

Already taking home two top-10 finishes this season, Everts owns three of the top 10 best 54-hole scores in Tech history, collecting two of them this fall alone.

The Golden Eagles will return to action Monday, Oct. 13 when the team heads to OVC foe Austin Peay for the F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate.
