OWENS CROSS ROADS, Ala. – For the second straight day the Tennessee Tech women's golf team fired a cumulative team score of 304 at the Ohio Valley Conference Championships, once again putting itself into position for a title run.
Leading the Golden Eagle charge Tuesday afternoon was junior veteran Maddi Everts, who after posting a first-round 76, followed it up with a 74 on day two. Her combined 150 was good enough to rank her fifth overall just one day after earning a place on the All-OVC Team.
Sophomore Whitney Robertson, who also earned a spot on the All-OVC Team once again found herself at the top of the leaderboard at the end of her round, sitting in a tie for first with Morehead State's Anna Magnusson with an overall score of 145. The Clarksville, Tenn. native posted a second-round 75 to pair nicely with her first round total of 70.
Putting together a big second round was junior Megan Williamson, who shaved four strokes off her first-round mark of 81, posted a 77 to move up into a tie for 23rd overall. She finished at 158 through the first two rounds.
Local Cookeville native Anna Cunningham also trimmed two strokes off her score from the first round, firing a second-round 78 for finish with a 160 in her first OVC Championship action. She ranked in a tie for 29th after the day. Lydia Triplett rounded out the day at 168 for the event and in 46th overall.
The OVC Women's Golf Championship will conclude with 18 holes of third round action on Wednesday. The action starts at 8:00 a.m. CT and live scoring can be accessed through links at OVCSports.com.
