COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The time has finally come for the Tennessee Tech women's golf team, as the Golden Eagles head to Owens Cross Roads, Ala. for the 2015 Ohio Valley Conference Championships beginning Monday, Apr. 24.

The 54-hole event, which will feature three consecutive days of 18 holes of play, will take place at Hampton Cove on the Robert Trent Jones golf Trail. The course will play at a par 72 with a yardage of 6,050. The opening round of the event will commence at 8:00 a.m. CT on Monday, with live stats available throught the tournament.

The annual awards banquet will be held following the first round of play on Monday. The banquet will honor the 10-member All-OVC team as well as the All-Newcomer Team and Freshman of the Year. The OVC Player of the Year, Coach of the Year as well as All-Tournament and Tournament MVP awards will be presented at the conclusion of each championship.

Hampton Cove, the northern gateway to the Trail, is a 54-hole facility with terrain that drastically changes from one side of the property to the other. Renovated in 2008, The Highlands course has been restored to its original Scottish Links design. The finishing holes are scenic and challenging and one of the most recognizable landmarks on the Trail is the old mule barn beside the fifth hole.

This mark the first time the OVC Championship has been contested at Hampton Cove. Last year in Muscle Shoals Murray State came from six shots behind entering the final day to top defending champion Eastern Kentucky by two shots.

Sophomore Whitney Robertson took home All-Tournament honors at the OVC Championships last year, placing fourth in the tournament after rounds of 77, 73 and 78 for a final score of 228 (+12). Junior Maddi Everts enters the event currently tied for second in the league in stroke average (75.8) while Robertson ranks seventh (76.2).

"It's been a year of great team performances and individual performances," head coach Polk Brown said, "and we're looking to put that all together in Huntsville. This is what we've worked towards all year and I'm confident that girls are ready to go. It should be a great experience. We're looking forward to competing against all the other teams in the OVC and can't wait to have a chance to bring it home come Wednesday."
