COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – All the hard work over the summer will finally be put to use for the Tennessee Tech women's golf team as the Golden Eagles head to Ledbetter, Ky. to kick off the 2014-15 season Monday at the Jan Weaver-Murray State Invitational.

Beginning with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. CT, Tech will battle a field of 11 programs at the Drake Creek Golf Club, playing 6,178 yards and par-72. Here's a look at the participating schools in this year's event:

Behind the solid play of returning junior Maddi Everts, the Golden Eagles fought to a tie for fifth place at this event last year. Everts carded a 76-77-79=232 to finish 16th and help Tech kick off the 2013-14 season with a solid start.

"Since April I have been ready to get these girls back here and ready to work," head coach Polk Brown said. "They have been going at it hard since the first day of school, and I'm excited to start our fall season at the defending OVC Champion's event. The girls are excited, and we look forward to a solid performance to start this year."
