COOKEVILLE, Tenn. --- With the first third of the season behind them, the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles will kick off their Ohio Valley Conference schedule this weekend as they travel to UT Martin.
Game one of the series is set for Friday at 6 p.m., with Saturday's game slated for 2 p.m. and Sunday's for 1 p.m.
Tech is 34-14 all-time against the Skyhawks, which includes a three-game sweep of UTM last season.
Tech enters the weekend with an 8-12 record, including its recent 3-1 loss to Middle Tennessee last Tuesday. Despite the loss, TTU has won four of its last six games, including a 5-1 win over Tennessee.
During their recent six-game stretch, the Golden Eagles have had five players bat at least .360 or better including Austin Wulf and Ben Burgess who have each tallied nine hits and driven in a combined nine runs.
UT Martin enters the weekend with a 5-15 record, which includes a 2-1 record in its last three games. Recently the Skyhawks defeated Christian Brothers 10-1.
Jordan Owen has led the Skyhawk offense this season as he has batted .405 with 15 RBI and five home runs. Grant Glasser has driven in nine runs for UTM, while coaxing a team-leading seven walks.
