Tech completes three-game series with Illinois State Sunday

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. --- The Tennessee Tech baseball team finished its first home series of the 2012 season Sunday.

Illinois State came away with the 28-2 victory.

Sophomore Zach Stephens notched the big hit for Tech as he tallied his second home run of the season in the eight inning. Junior Austin Wulf extended his hitting streak to seven games, while driving in one run.

Zac Johnson drove in a team-high six runs for the Redbirds, while Kyle Stanton added five RBI of his own.

Dylan Craig earned the victory for ISU as he threw five innings. Sophomore Jacob McWhirter took the loss as he allowed five runs.

The Golden Eagles continue their homestand Tuesday, as they host Lipscomb at 3 p.m.
