Golden Eagles kick off road trip Tuesday at Clemson

Game time moved up from 5:30 p.m. to 1 p.m.

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. --- After taking two out of three against Morehead State last weekend, the Tennessee Tech baseball team will take a short break from Ohio Valley Conference play Tuesday as it travels to Clemson for a 1 p.m. game.

The game time, originally scheduled for 5:30 p.m., was moved up to 1 p.m. due to the threat of inclement weather.

The Golden Eagles (19-27, 9-12 OVC) are currently on a two-game winning streak after winning their last two games against Morehead State by the scores of 10-9 and 13-7. In the OVC standings, the Golden Eagles are seventh overall, but hold the final spot in the OVC Tournament due to IU Edwardsville being ineligible this season.

Zach Stephens still leads TTU in several offensive categories including batting average (.404), hits (72), home runs (16) and RBIs (48). Michael Morris, who is batting .343 on the season, recorded four doubles last weekend, including three in Tech's 10-9 win over MSU Saturday.

Clemson (28-20, 14-10 ACC) won two of its last three games against the College of Charleston, but lost its most recent game 4-2 Monday evening.

Richie Shaffer has been one of the offensive leaders for the Tigers this season as he leads the team with 15 doubles, eight home runs and a .346 batting average.  Phil Pohl has driven in a team-high 44 RBIS, while Steve Wilkerson has scored a team-leading 42 runs.
