BRENTWOOD, Tenn. --- After guiding Tennessee Tech to a 5-0 win in the series opener against Austin Peay, TTU starter Tristan Archer has been named the Ohio Valley Conference Pitcher of the Week.

This is Archer's second Pitcher of the Week award this season, with the first coming back on April 2. Archer, and SIU Edwardsville's Travis Felax, were the only two pitchers in the OVC to receive the Pitcher of the Week honor twice this season.

A junior out of Kingsport, Tenn., Archer finished just two outs shy of a complete-game shutout in Tech's 5-0 win over APSU last Friday. He struck out a career-high 13 batters, which included a stretch where he stuck out seven of eight batters.

Archer finished his junior season with a 4-4 record and struck out a team-high 76 batters.
