Tech baseball finishes near top in multiple NCAA statistical categories

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. --- The Tennessee Tech baseball team finished in the top-50 in six NCAA statistical team categories, while several Golden Eagles appeared on the individual rankings as well.

TTU finished its season with a combined batting average of .299, which ranked 26th in the nation. It also finished 13th in home runs per game (0.92) and 20th in home runs (49). Tech also finished 51st in scoring, averaging 6.2 runs per game and 92nd in hitting with 559 hits.

In other categories, the Golden Eagle finished 11th in hit by pitches (94), and 19th in on base percentage (.391).

In the individual categories it was Zach Stephens that stood out as he finished in the 50 in five separate categories.

Stephens displayed power all season long and finished fourth in the nation in home runs per game (0.34) and sixth in home runs with 18. His .696 slugging percentage placed him in fifth place in the nation, while his 142 total bases ranked 29th. His on base percentage of .479 put him in 32nd place.

Stephens also finished 58th in batting average (.368), 53rd in runs batted in per game (0.98) and 84th runs batted in (52).

Michael Morris finished 136th in doubles per game with 0.31, while Austin Wulf finished 19th in hit by pitches with 21.

On the mound, Tristan Archer finished 163rd in strikeouts with 76 and ranked 223rd in strikeouts per game with 7.69.
