Golden Eagles take winning streak on the road to Southeast Missouri

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. --- Fresh off a walk-off victory over Belmont, the Tennessee Tech baseball team will look to extend its winning streak as it travels to Southeast Missouri this weekend for a three-game series.

Game one of the series is set for Friday at 6 p.m., with game two scheduled for Saturday at 2 p.m., and game three slated for Sunday at 1 p.m.

This weekend's matchup with feature two of the nation's premier sluggers in Zach Stephens and Trenton Moses. Both players have each tallied 15 home runs on the season and have driven in a combined 88 runs.  They are also near the top in batting average with Stephens batting .430 and Moses batting .426.

Tech is 20-40 all-time against SEMO, including a 2-2 record last season. In their last meeting, the Redhawks defeated the Golden Eagles 6-1 in the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament.

TTU (16-20, 6-6 OVC) currently sits in fifth place in the OVC standings, while SEMO (12-26, 3-9 OVC) sits in last place in the conference standings.

The Golden Eagles enter the weekend on the heels of a pair of wins against SIU Edwardsville (18-5) and Belmont (7-6). Tech's win against Belmont came via a walk-off two-run homer by Michael Morris. Zach Stephens notched his 15th home run of the season and drove in a team-high three RBI as well.

Six TTU players have driven in at least 20 runs on the season, including Stephens who leads the team with 42. Ben Burgess posted his 20th RBI this season against Belmont and is currently batting .339.

SEMO enters the weekend after defeating Arkansas State 5-3. The Redhawks are 9-13 at home this season and have won their last three games at home.

Trenton Moses leads the Southeast Missouri offense as he has driven in 46 runs and has posted 15 home runs. Kenton Parmley has also had a solid season as he has scored 36 runs, while batting .413.
