Golden Eagles kick off road trip at Middle Tennessee

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. --- Having won four of its last five games, the Tennessee Tech baseball team will now take its momentum on the road as it begins a five-game road trip Tuesday, beginning with Middle Tennessee.

The first pitch is set for 6 p.m.

This will be the 170th meeting between the Golden Eagles and the Blue Raiders with MTSU owning the series edge at 105-63-1. Middle Tennessee won last year's meeting 6-5.

In their last series, the Golden Eagles took two out of three against Central Michigan as the Golden Eagles offense posted 32 runs this past weekend.

Zach Stephens and Chad Hayes did the most damage as they accounted for 11 of TTU's 32 runs batted in and eight of the 32 runs scored. 

Stephens, who leads TTU with a .472 batting average, has driven in 23 runs on the season and has tallied one home run in each of his last five games.

Middle Tennessee is currently 12-8 on the season, which includes two straight wins over Western Kentucky in their last two games.

Ethan Williams hit three home runs in MTSU's most recent game against WKU and is leading the team with a .342 batting average. Three Blue Raiders have driven in 15 runs this season including Williams, Trent Miller and Johnny Thomas.
