SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Inclement weather, including rain and thunderstorms in the Springfield, Mo. area put an abrupt halt to the second round of the Twin Oaks Intercollegiate, but the Tennessee Tech men's golf team and the other 15 teams contending in Missouri State's event were able to finish the first 18 holes of play Monday afternoon.

With teams a little less than halfway through their second trip around the course, the decision was made to shorten the two-day event to just 36 holes, with golfers set to resume play Tuesday morning at 8:00 a.m. CT for what will now be the final round of action.

After 18 holes of action, the Golden Eagles were tied for eighth overall with North Alabama and Ohio Valley Conference rival SIUE, all posting a 298. Oral Roberts led the field, producing an 11-under 273. Wichita State's Lucas Scheufler and Central Arkansas' Josh Turnock tied for the individual lead after round one, each firing a 6-under 65. WSU's Dawson Lewis is the current leader mid-second round, sitting a 7-under.

For the purple and gold, it was Jackson Skeen delivering the top round of the day, sporting an even-par 71 backed by a pair of birdies. Following six holes of round two, the redshirt junior sits in a tie for 15th among the field of 89 golfers, claiming two more birdies thus far to stay even overall.

Nick Sutton rounded out his first time around the course at 1-over with a 72, turning in one birdie and a whopping 15 pars. Through seven holes of round-two action, the sophomore ranks just one shot back of Skeen, tied for 20th at 1-over.

Fellow sophomore Mark McDearman carded a 77 for his first round and has shown improvement in his second trip around the links. The youngster sports a pair of birdies and five pars through seven holes, climbing up to a tie for 41st overall at 4-over.

Bracton Womack and Chance Taylor each finished the first round with scores of 78. Womack, a senior, also has produced well in his second time on the course, delivering a birdie and six pars over seven holes to sit 6-over and in a tie for 57th. Taylor has produced a trio of birdies in his second round, currently tied for 65th at 7-over.
