Tech men's golf team to host Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate, tournament changed to 36 holes

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech men's golf team returns to Sevierville, Tenn. to host the ninth annual Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate at Sevierville Golf Club. Due to inclement weather, including heavy amounts of snow in Sevierville, the tournament has been changed to a 36-hole event.

BOBBY NICHOLS INTERCOLLEGIATE: Mar. 14-15, 2021 – 36 holes (18 Monday, 18 Tuesday), located at the par-72, 6,891-yard River Course at Sevierville Golf Club in Sevierville, Tenn. Play will begin with a 1:30 p.m. ET shotgun start on Monday. Tuesday's final round will commence at 10:00 a.m. ET with another shotgun start.

GOLDEN EAGLE LINEUP: Competing for the Golden Eagles are junior Chance Taylor, sophomore Mark McDearman, sophomore Nick Sutton, redshirt freshman Jackson Skeen, and senior Bracton Womack. Competing as individuals for the purple and gold are sophomore Sean Anderson, freshman Avery Irwin, redshirt freshman Alexander Bassel, and junior Bryce Beeler

THE COMPETITION: The 16-team field consists of host Tennessee Tech, as well as Alabama A&M, Bellarmine, Binghamton, Carson-Newman, Cleveland State, Detroit Mercy, Findlay, Marshall, Morehead State, Murray State, Northern Kentucky, Oral Roberts, Roane State, Tennessee State, and Walters State.

THOUGHTS FROM HEAD COACH POLK BROWN: "We are excited to return to our annual event in Sevierville. The guys have been working hard after Orlando and are ready for the challenge ahead. We're just looking forward to a great tournament."
