Golden Eagles migrate south for Orlando Invitational Feb. 28 and Mar. 1

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech men's golf team will kick off the 2022 spring campaign with a flight to Florida, competing in the Orlando Invitational Feb. 28 and Mar. 1 at Mission Hills Resort in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla.

This marks the first trip for the Golden Eagles to the event. Tech was recently chosen second in the Ohio Valley Conference preseason poll.

ORLANDO INVITATIONAL: Feb. 28-Mar. 1, 2022 – 54 holes (36 Monday, 18 Tuesday), located at the par-72, 7,015-yard Mission Hills Resort – El Campeón Course in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla. Play will begin Monday with a shotgun start at 6:45 a.m. CT. The third and final round will commence Tuesday with shotgun start beginning at 6:30 a.m.

GOLDEN EAGLE LINEUP: Competing for the Golden Eagles are sophomore Nick Sutton, senior Bracton Womack, redshirt freshman Jackson Skeen, junior Chance Taylor, and sophomore Mark McDearman. Competing as an individual for Tech is junior Bryce Beeler.

THE COMPETITION: The 12-team field consists of hosts Cleveland State and Oakland, as well as Bellarmine, Detroit Mercy, Green Bay, IUPUI, Mount St. Mary's, Northern Kentucky, Purdue Fort Wayne, Stetson, Tennessee Tech, and Wright State.

THOUGHTS FROM HEAD COACH POLK BROWN: "After four months, we are excited to return to action this spring. The guys have been hard at work since returning in January, and we look forward to the opportunity in Orlando at an event we're playing in for the first time. It will be a challenging test to start the semester, but the guys are ready."
