COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – With the second half of its 2021-22 campaign quickly approaching, the Tennessee Tech men's golf team released its spring schedule, boasting a trio of new events to the mix.

"The guys are excited for the spring to get started," Tech head coach Polk Brown said. "We look to continue the momentum we built through the fall semester towards conference. These young men have an amazing opportunity in front of them. I believe we could do some extraordinary work if we focus on the things we can control over the next several months.  We're ready to get after it."

Starting things in the spring for the Golden Eagles is a new event, a trip south to Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla. for the Orlando Invitational. The two-day tournament, hosted by Oakland and Cleveland State, spans Monday, Feb. 28 through Tuesday, Mar. 1, taking place on the El Campeón Course at Mission Hills Resort.

For the ninth time in 10 years, the purple and gold makes its return to Sevierville, Tenn. to host the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate. Running from Sunday, Mar. 13 through Tuesday, Mar. 15, the event will once again take place on the River Course of Sevierville Golf Club.

Another new event for the Tech squad will feature a visit to Springfield, Mo. for Missouri State's Twin Oaks Intercollegiate. Competing at Twin Oaks Country Club, the Golden Eagles will look for a strong showing in the tournament that will run Monday, Mar. 21 through Tuesday, Mar. 22.

Moving into April, the Golden Eagles will take their first stab at the Carpenter-Chaney Classic, taking place Monday, Apr. 4 through Tuesday, Apr. 5 in Tunica, Miss. Hosted by Ohio Valley Conference rivals Morehead State and UT Martin, the event will feature competition at Tunica National Golf Club. The tournament will also consist of match play, a different wrinkle to Tech's usual actionl.

A traditional tournament ends Tech's regular-season slate, with the purple and gold returning to the Big Blue Intercollegiate hosted by Tennessee State. A two-time winner of the event, the Golden Eagles will again compete at President's Reserve at The Hermitage Golf Course in Old Hickory, Tenn. from Monday, Apr. 11 through Tuesday, Apr. 12.

Tech will conclude the spring at the OVC Championships, taking place at the Dalhousie Golf Club in Cape Girardeau, Mo. for the first time ever. Spanning Sunday, Apr. 24 through Wednesday, Apr. 27, this year's event will include three rounds of stroke play followed by the top four teams advancing to match play on the final day. This is the first time match play has been used to determine the OVC Champion.
