Golden Eagle sophomore Allyson Dunn chosen as OVC Female Golfer of the Week

Golden Eagle sophomore Allyson Dunn chosen as OVC Female Golfer of the Week

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- Tennessee Tech's Allyson Dunn has been selected as the Ohio Valley Conference co-Female Golfer of the Week on the strength of a sensational showing last week at the EKU Colonel Classic. It is the first weekly honor for the sophomore from Kingsport, Tenn., who joined the Golden Eagle program last summer following a transfer from East Tennessee State.

Dunn placed second individually in a strong field of 75 golfers at the 54-hole tournament in Richmond, Ky., carding rounds of 76 74 and 70 for a four-over-par, 220 total. That placed her just two strokes off the top of the leaderboard and helped the Golden Eagle women place third in the 12-team tournament field. Dunn's final round 70 was the lowest score of the tournament, and is tied for the third-lowest single round ever scored by a member of the Tech women's golf program. Her tourney total of 220 is also the tied for the third-best 54-hole score in school history.

Dunn, who shared the weekly honor with Moa Folke of Murray State, will be in the lineup this weekend when the Golden Eagles play in the Murray State Time-Warner Invitational, Friday and Saturday.
